Left Brain vs Right Brain

Posted on November 5, 2007

Now that’s a tricky one. How do you see the dancer turning – clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Left Brain vs Right Brain - Daily Telegraph

The answer to this test is given in the Daily Telegraph page.

That was good! Could anyone see the counter-clockwise turn of the figure? I couldn’t as hard as I tried.

Later Edit: I could I could dancing emoticon ! But I had to keep my head turned on the left side and squeeze my eyes to actually see. It’s marvellous to experience both the two perceptions.

Just playing my brain like a freakin’ instrument ! :) )
Anyway, Right side wins, as far as I’m concerned…

This exercise should have been categorized as follows (because I sense this is important):
    1) FIRST IMPRESSION (the perception one is having the first time it sees the figurine): Right — clockwise.
    2) PERSISTENT IMPRESSION (the impression to which one returns): Right — clockwise.
    3) OPPOSING IMPRESSION (the perception of opposite direction of movement / conditions of acheving it / efforts of maintaining it): Yes / After straining my eyes out of focus for nearly 2 mins. Had to look first at its legs, then move to the torso… / One tiny little distraction was enough to cause me to loose focus and revert to the Right-perception…

both ways, rapidly … maybe because I’m a man and I can imagine a woman in various positions in terms of seconds :) )

It works! Yay! In both ways, without turning my head on the left side, or squeezing my eyes.
I can just look at the animation and at somepoint, it stops and starts to spin in the reverse direction. Very interesting! And it keeps turning even if I’m blinking…
